Wednesday is the day for trash and recycling in the Borough. Bulk items are picked up the 1st Wednesday of the month. Brush pickup will be the last Wednesday of the month from April through October yearly - 7 pickups total.
Four Container Limit:
Residents may put out four (4) containers weekly. Maximum weight is 60lbs per container. Additional service tags can be purchased through York Waste Disposal. Additional container tags cost $4.00 per tag. Please call York Waste's Customer Service department at 800-210-9675 to purchase additional tags. VISA, MasterCard and American Express cards are accepted for payment. Tags are also available for purchase at the Penbrook Borough office.
Special Large Item Pick-up:
York Waste will collect one bulk item per dwelling per month. Collection is on the 1st Wednesday of the month. No hazardous waste, no tires, no storage tanks of any type. Appliances, including, but not limited to: stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, hot water heaters and dishwashers shall be collected on the last collection day of each month. Please notify York Waste Disposal when you are disposing of an item containing a refrigerant (air conditioner, freezer, refrigerator). These items require special handling.
You will not receive an invoice from York Waste Disposal. You will be billed by the Borough of Penbrook.
There is no collection on: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday the pick up day will move one (1) day to Thursday. A holiday falling on Thursday or Friday will have no effect on the pick up schedule.
Brush Pick Up:
This is defined as leave, tree trimmings, hedge trimmings, and brush etc. Trimmings shall be no larger than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 4 feet in length. There is no limit on the number of containers that can be put out for this service. Grass clippings are not included in the brush pick up but are included in the trash pick up - counting as part of the container limit.
